Amy L. Decker, LCSW, started Life Counseling Center, Inc. in September 2002. This surfaced from a vision to create a place where those seeking emotional wellness would receive high-quality care in a respectful and nurturing environment. We provide a place where the incredible resiliency of each individual is recognized and valued. It is our goal to assist individuals, couples and families in achieving balance and well being.
We look forward to being your partners in healing.
A professional coach may use inquiry, reflection, requests and discussion to help clients identify personal and/or business and/or relationship goals, and develop action plans intended to achieve those goals. The client takes action, and the coach may assist, but never leads or does more than the client. Professional coaching is not counseling, therapy or consulting. These different skill sets and approaches to change may be used in addition to counseling services.

As therapists, we have the great privilege of working with people as they navigate through life transitions. I believe that two of the things that we all have in common as human beings is that 1) we are incredibly resilient, and 2) we all suffer. It is through our individual sufferings that we are able to really connect with our own resiliency and learn and grow from those challenges. Focusing on individual strengths and honoring Mindfulness practices are at the foundation of my work with clients. I am grateful for the opportunity and trust of the amazing people that I have worked with and who have shared their journeys with me over the past twenty years. As a general practitioner I have worked with a wide range of individuals dealing with a variety of life transition issues: including couple's and family therapy, individual adult men and women's issues, mood disorders and healing from trauma and loss. I look forward to connecting with you regarding your specific needs, please feel free to contact me directly at 904-333-7068. On a personal note: I am a native of Jacksonville, married to my husband Bill Decker P.E. for 25 years. We have two wonderful sons. I was privileged to serve in the United States Marine Corps and completed my graduate work at the University of Kansas
